南宗画を代表する毅斎 許百鍊画伯（1891－1977）の三愛思想と画業を称えるため、毅斎文化財団が建てた美術館で2001年11月17日にオープンしました。毅斎美術館は、地上2階、地下1階建てで、常設展示室と企画展示室、収蔵室、セミナー室、茶道室などがあります。「風景と建築」をテーマに設計・施工された毅斎美術館は、打ち放しコンクリート技法や、傾いた道をコンセプトにした空間作りなど建築作品としての特色ある要素も注目されており、2001年第10回韓国建築文化大賞を受賞しました。2001年11月17日のオープン以来これまで、「毅斎－愛天、愛土、愛人」、「茶香の中の生と芸術」、「阮堂と阮堂の風―金正喜とその友人たち」展などが開催されました。また、2002年光州ビエンナーレプロジェクト2国際シンポジウム「ここが私たちの居場所なのか？」、沈寿官の「陶磁器人生」や阮堂金正喜に関するセミナーが開催されました。現在は、毅斎 許百鍊画伯の作品や写真が常設展示されています。

粤華苑は中国の広東省が孝園公園の西側に造った中国式の庭園で広東地域の伝統庭園の特色を活かした建物と庭園が調和をなすように設計されました。2003年10月に京畿道と広東省が締結した「友好交流発展に関する実行協約」の内容のうち、韓国と中国の伝統庭園をお互いの都市に造ることを約束したことで2005年6月15日から工事が始まり、2006年4月17日にオープンしました。 広東省にある伝統庭園である嶺南庭園と同じ建物の窓で外の庭園の様子が良く見えるようにし、後苑に土を積み上げて造った假山と人工湖などを配置しました。また、湖周辺には人工の滝をつくり、船をモチーフにして造った亭子を建てました。 2005年6月に韓国にやってきた中国の労働者80人の手によって造られたこの庭園の大きさは6,026平方メートル（1,820坪）で広東省が建築費34億ウォンを負担しました。2003年10月に結んだ協約によって京畿道も広東省広州にある越秀公園内に海東京畿園を造りました。2005年12月にオープンし、海東京畿園は全羅南道潭陽郡にある韓国の伝統庭園である瀟灑園をモチーフにして造りました。

無等山を見渡す場所に位置する国立5.18民主墓地は、1980年5月民主化抗争の間に歴史の中へと消えていった犠牲者たちの墓域として、自由と民主の象徴となるところ。1980年当時、犠牲者たちが手押し車や清掃車などに乗せられて来て埋められた所はマンウォン洞墓域でしたが、その後、5.18民主構想に対する再評価作業が行われ、1997年この墓地が完工し改葬され、5月18日が国家記念日となりました。韓国家屋でできている民主の門、民主広場、英霊たちへの追念文、そして手をあわせるような形の巨大なモニュメント・5.18民主抗争追慕塔などが美しい公園墓地を形成しています。また写真や映像資料を見ることのできる資料館もあり、当時の資料を通し歴史的な理解を深めることもできるでしょう。

大浦海岸(テポヘアン) 柱状節理帯(チュサンチョルリデ)石柱が海岸線に幾重にも重なりあっている西帰浦市の柱節理帯は、済州の指定文化財です。柱節理帯は、漢拏山から噴出する溶岩が中文の前の海に流れ込んで形成され、大小の四角形や六角の石柱（30m）からできています。まるで石職人が作ったような柱節理を見ると、自然の神秘を感じずにはいられません。行政区域上では、昔の地名「チサゲ」を活かして「チサゲ岩」とも呼ばれています。ここでは20m近い高さの絶壁にぶつかる高い波濤と海釣りが有名です。

1974年に設立された大関嶺ハヌル牧場は40年の歴史を持つ牧場で、汝矣島の広さの3倍を誇る900万㎡規模の巨大な牧場です。現在は約400頭のホルスタインと100頭の韓牛を飼育しています。年間1,400トンに及ぶ1等級原乳と豊かな自然の中で飼育された韓牛を生産しています。 人工的な開発ではない、そのままの自然が体験できる、自然順応型体験牧場として人気を集めています。
